Alicia Keys scores UK Number One album (February 7)

Alicia Keys fourth album 'The Element Of Freedom' has climbed to Number One in the UK charts tonight (February 7).

The US soul singer released the record last December, but this week is the first it has occupied the top spot.

'The Element Of Freedom' fought off tough competition from Dutch violinist Andre Rieu and his album 'Forever Vienna', thought to be the highest charting classical album this century.
Elsewhere in the chart, Hot Chip's fourth album 'One Life Stand' debuted at Number 11, while Midlake's 'The Courage Of Others' went in at number 18.

Meanwhile, in the singles chart, Owl City's 'Fireflies' retained the Number One spot for a third week, according to The Official Charts Company – the highest new entry was Jedward ft. Vanilla Ice with their version of 'Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)'.

The only other new entry in the chart is Timbaland ft. Katy Perry's 'If We Ever Meet Again', at Number Three.
The UK Top 10 singles are:

1. Owl City – 'Fireflies'
2. Jedward ft. Vanilla Ice – 'Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)'
