Alicia Keys Is Looking For A Few Good Bloggers
Who among us hasn't taken a look at chart-topping R&B superstar Alicia Keys and thought, "I bet I could go to work for that woman acting as an instrument for the expression of her worldview on the Internet." Keys wants to make those theories a reality, as she is partnering with Monster to find a blogger for a soon-to-launch online property called I Am a SuperWoman.
"It will ignite super women with empowering content, delivering vibrant and optimistic news, opinion, and entertainment at a supersonic pace," reads the statement of purpose on the official Web site. "IAAS (I Am A SuperWoman) will give powerhouses everywhere one source to connect with each other — and the world." It sounds like Keys wants her own version of Goop.
Think you can provide a place for powerhouses to gather? Keys would like to see your resumé. The semi-finalists will go to London for an incredibly elaborate job interview, and the winner will be at work for Keys by July. She isn't just looking for superfans, either. According to the job listing, applicants must have two to three years of experience, a Bachelor's degree and the willingness to be interviewed on television (at least throughout the interview process). It's also not a telecommuting gig — I Am a SuperWoman will operate out of New York City.
Still, it's as cool a contest as we've seen and will probably attract some truly talented people (you know, like "Project Runway").
