Attend 11th Annual Art for Life Benefit to Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz


Parents to be Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz made their way to the Hamptons on Saturday, at the 11th Annual Art for Life Benefit on July 24 where Beatz was honored at Russell Simmons' East Hampton estate in New York. Keys looked stunning in a strapless brown dress with her baby bump shown, while Beatz opted a formal look in a white suit. Keys and Beatz are recently expecting their first child together and having a wedding on the horizon. Beside the glad couple, the fund raising event drew other big names such as John Legend, Deepak Chopra and Amber Rose. Legend hit the event along with his girlfriend Christine Teigen. The "Ordinary People" hitmaker sported a white T-shirt and dark trousers, while Teigen looked stunning in a matching knitted blouse and flowing hair. Indian American physician Chopra, in the meantime, donned a bright yellow shirt, while Rose went lovely in a pink long dress. Anthony Anderson served as the host at the event which was also attended by Kourtney Kardashian, Kelly Bensimon and Selita Ebanks. Art for Life East Hampton itself is Rush Philanthropic's primary annual fund raising outreach to friends and supporters. The foundation, which was launched in 2000, is dedicated to providing disadvantaged urban youth with significant arts exposure, access and education as well as providing exhibition opportunities to early and mid career artists and artists of color

Alicia Keys: Will Be A Great Mum Fiancé


Alicia Keys' fiancé, rapper Swizz Beatz, thinks singer will make a wonderful mother.
The couple, who announced their engagement in May, are expecting their first child together later this year and the rapper has enthused about their parenting skills.
"Alicia is definitely one of those great parents to be. I'm definitely one of those great parents as well," he said.
"Whatever we're blessed with, boy, girl, twins, that baby is being born to blessed parents," the 31 year old told People.
Beatz, real name Kasseem Dean, has two sons from previous relationships.
The performer also denied rumours that the couple were set to wed in a lavish ceremony on a yacht.
"People are very creative (with gossip), but it's cool. We have fun with this stuff. (The rumours are that) we're taking a boat to do this and we're like, 'Man, who's paying for that?' " he teased.

At Black Ball Concert Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Sade to Perform


At the seventh annual Black Ball concert Alicia Keys will bring Jay-Z and Sade out to perform, taking place Sept. 30 at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. The event will raise money for Keys' Keep a Child Alive foundation, which helps provide AIDS/HIV treatment and care to children and families in Africa and India.
"Sade? Jay-Z? Both icons and both major influences of mine," Keys said in a statement. "I am overwhelmed by their generosity in helping us continue the tradition of making the Black Ball the best fundraiser in NYC. There are more surprises coming up! Stay tuned!"
The Black Ball event has been raising millions of dollars for years with past performers such as David Bowie, Justin Timberlake, Chris Martin, Common, John Mayer, and Bono. Besides musicians, politicians and entrepreneurs like Bill Clinton and Richard Branson have helped donate money to the foundation.

'I grew up around drugs and gangs' Alicia Keys


Alicia Keys has admitted that she had a "tough" upbringing growing up in the Hell's Kitchen area of New York City. With Fabulous in an interview, the superstar R&B has claimed that she was golden to have a solid support system at home that included her mother and grandmother."Growing up for me was tough. I could have gone any way. I grew up around drugs and gangs and I knew kids who got involved in both," the 29 year old said."I was lucky that I had my mother and my grandmother. I was a tough kid but I didn't want that to be my future. It makes me sad to think that some of my friends had no escape."Keys currently revealed that she is engaged and expecting her first child with rapper/producer Swizz Beatz.

Alicia Keys R&B Songs Chart


R&B/Hip Hop songs Alicia Keys has held on to the top spot on the Billboard songs chart with her runaway hit single "Un thinkable (I'm Ready)." The track entered the chart at number 65 for the week of February 20 and steadily climbed until it hit number 1 on May 22. Keys' track held off tough competition to keep this week's crown. Usher's "There Goes My Baby" was in the number two spot this week, holding its highest position in 25 weeks on the chart. Drake also held tight this week, with his single "Find Your Love" taking the number three spot. This week, Keys spoke out in praise of her fiancé, hip hop heavyweight Swizz Beatz. In a current interview with Fabulous Magazine, Keys says that her romance with Beatz is recently the greatest inspiration in her life. She says, "I am very much in love. Right now love is my main inspiration. Love is the one thing we all want in our lives and I am completely surrounded by it. Love fills you up in a way nothing else can and it's the most amazing, amazing thing".
